Owner: Walbro Pump Install - Toyota Glanza GT

Courtesy of CHINAONE, Toyota GT Turbo Forum

Before you start this install, make sure your working in a clean area to avoid fuel contamination and disconnect the battery.

1. Start by locating the fuel tank cover, found under the rear bench

2. (IMAGE 1) Unplug the wire harness then remove the 3 screws which hold the cover in place.

3. (IMAGE 2) Slowly pull the cover away to reveal the 3 fuel lines.

4. (IMAGE 3) Remove the clips which hold the fuel lines in place and remove the screws to gain access to the fuel tank

5. (IMAGE 4) Now CAREFULLY lift the whole carrier unit out of the tank. You will notice the Walbro pump is slightly larger than the OE pump, this is fine. It's a snug fit.

6. (IMAGE 5) Remove the OE pump from the cradle and locate the OE wire harness with the blue and black wires attached. The supplied harness for the Walbro pump is different, so you'll need to snip the 2 wires, and crimp the new harness in it's place, making sure you leave enough length to reach the new pump once fitted in the cradle.

7. (IMAGE 6) Fit the Walbro pump into the cradle, attach the supplied filter, plug in the new harness and re-attach the fuel line.

8. Now double check all the connections and before you putting the tank back together in reverse order, re-connect the battery and switch the key in the ignition to the 'ON' position (without starting the car) and listen carefully for the fuel pump winding up.

9. Put the tank back together in reverse order and enjoy!
